The use of wave energy has lagged the development of wind energy but decreasing availability and considerably increasing fossil fuel prices and global warming has increased attention in recent years and strides are now being made in that direction. Natural wave energy abounds and is effectively limitless. The derivation of this energy has occupied the minds of many inventors for years and several attempts have been made to harness it. The Enerotor is designed to easily and directly convert that energy into relatively cheap green electricity. The process is carbon-free and is anticipated to progressively simply replace coal-burning and possibly even nuclear power stations.
The Proprietary Technology and Intellectual Property of the Enerotor has been protected globally by a provisional patent in which several unique claims and novel features are cited.
Wave energy is almost continuously available with tidal changes providing better circumstances. A number of devices rely on articulated pontoons, the articulated motion being harnessed to operate pistons, hydraulic rams and motors to generate electricity (e.g.Pelamis & Oyster types). Currently these have attracted considerable sums of money for testing and development. Others compress air forcing it through turbines. (e.g. Oceanlinx & Wavegen types), The Enerotor takes advantage of the far greater optimum forces available from direct huge water forces and gravity.
The Enerotor has attributes which may enable it to become the Leading System of Wave Energy Harnessing and Development.
